Also, listening to you talk about the pole beans, I had to go order some to raise in our garden this year. Sounds yummy! We love green beans & new potatoes boiled together. My paternal grandmother went to heaven in June of 2000. She taught me to quilt and encouraged my passion for quilting and gardening flowers. I think of her everyday. So I know how you are feeling about your beloved Granddaddy.

Jason, What a blessing for you to had a granddaddy that long! Wow! I know you are going to miss him and always will but,think of all those memories you have. I lost my only grandparent (my grand mother when I was 6 ) and then my daddy when I was 8. I treasure all the memories I do have. Praying for you and your family in such a great loss. 🙏🏻❤️

I’m so glad that you got to spend time with your granddaddy for so many years. He was a rare gem. My dad left his PA farm at 13 -during the Depression. It wasn’t until he left that he appreciated the things grown and produced on his Mennonite farm. I think of how he used to love tomatoes and kohlrabi (not together) each year when I plant my gardens in NE Ohio. He would have loved them.

I hope when your granddaddy gets his wings, it is the plane he loved flying the most with an infinite fuel tank. I'll miss hearing about how he's doing, but we know he's in the best place. Glad you have such an amazing pole bean in your family, way back to the 1700s in the same family. That's just awesome!

Jason, I'm so very sorry for you and your family's loss of your Granddaddy! What a blessing to have these videos of him to look back on. He was a sweetheart and surely lived a very long life! What a great way to remember your Granddaddy by planting your family's pole beans! I enjoyed this video of you looking back on some visits with your beloved Granddaddy! I pray God give you and your family His peace and His comfort! So cool that you are growing Buckwheat! I used to look forward to the Buckwheat Festival in WV every year! They served buckwheat cakes (like pancakes, but, real thin and a good size.) I didn't like the buckwheat much as a kid, but, I think the fact that it was a family tradition made me come to like the buckwheat cakes when I was in my early twenties and had moved back home again. It is a little sour tasting, but, good!

So sorry about your Grandaddy. The reason you were able to start that tiller on the first pull is because you take care of your equipment. That was impressive especially after three years.

Grandpa was a good man to know with all of his experience though his 101 years, just from the time that I got to see him, he was a good friend to have.
